Donahue Falls Short in 1500m Olympic Debut
Philadelphia, PA- Running for a chance to win an Olympic track and field medal in Beijing, Philadelphia University assistant cross country coach and former University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill standout Erin Donohue fell just short in her bid early Thursday morning, finishing eighth in her 1500m heat (4:16.05).
The top three runners in each of the three heats along with the top three fastest times will advance to Saturday's final race. Fellow American teammate Shannon Rowbury advanced to the finals with a time of 4:03.89.
Donohue, a Haddonfield, NJ native- currently holds a personal best in the 1500m of 4:05.55.
