PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia University director of athletics Tom Shirley has announced the promotion Rose Kelly to associate director of athletics/Senior Woman Administrator, effective immediately, Friday.
"In Rose's time at Philadelphia University, she has shown a tremendous commitment to the University, the department of athletics, and, most importantly, the student-athletes," said Shirley. "I am pleased to promote her and look forward to continuing to work with her."
For the last three years, Kelly served as the University's assistant director of athletics for compliance/SWA. In addition to her compliance duties, Kelly is in charge of the Philadelphia University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the planning of the annual Ram Madness event to kick off basketball season.
Kelly has been a part of the Philadelphia University community since coming to the University as an undergraduate student in 2006. For three seasons Kelly was a defender for the field hockey program. In addition to playing field hockey, Kelly was a student worker for the athletics department.
After earning her degree in marketing in spring 2010, Kelly remained at Philadelphia University to pursue her MBA and continued to work in the athletics department as a graduate assistant.
Kelly completed the master's program in May 2011 and was hired one month later to serve as the department's administrative assistant.
