Jefferson’s Herb Magee Court Prepped for the 2017-18 School Year

PHILADELPHIA – The finishing touches are being put on Herb Magee Court inside of Jefferson's (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) Gallagher Athletic Center as the court underwent its annual refinishing this summer.

After a summer of camps, clinics and events, the court closed last week to prepare the updates for the start of the 2017-18 athletic year.

Even more so than previous years, Herb Magee Court withstood a few more offseason changes than usual as Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University continues its integration on the East Falls Campus in Philadelphia.

In addition to the standard sanding and lacquering, the court was adjusted to display the current landscape of the school with "RAMS" placed on center court and "Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University" running along the sideline.

The first athletic event of the fall to be played on the newly refurbished Herb Magee Court will be when the Jefferson volleyball team hosts Wilmington in a Central Athletic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. The regular seasons for men's and women's basketball will begin in November.

An official logo and school colors will be released at a later date when the Jefferson style guide is formally announced.
