Men’s Soccer CACC Preseason Poll Released

John Cloud

New Haven, CT- The Philadelphia University men's soccer team has been chosen to finish fifth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) preseason poll, as voted upon by the 11 head coaches in the league.

The Rams will be joining the Division II ranks for the first time since 1956.  The men's soccer squad most recently competed in the Atlantic Soccer Conference (ASC) for the past seven years, but the conference disbanded after the 2007-08 season.

"Joining the CACC is an opportunity to house all our sports under one conference umbrella, as women's lacrosse is also joining the CACC this year," said Director of Athletics Tom Shirley

Wilmington University received four first-place votes and is the preseason favorite as they return as the defending CACC Tournament Champions, while Dominican College received the number two ranking.

Last season the Rams went 3-13-2 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play while competing at the NCAA Division I level.

Action will kick-off on August 29th when the Rams travel to Wilmington University to take on Millersville at 4:30 p.m.
