Guerra leads men's basketball to 13-point win over Felician

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Kylan Guerra (White Plains, N.Y./Archbishop Stepinac) led four Philadelphia University men's basketball players in double-figure scoring with a game-high 21 points as the Rams picked up a 70-57 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory at Felician University Saturday afternoon in Job Gym.

Guerra—who also grabbed six rebounds and recorded a career-high four steals—played all 40 minutes for the second time in his career and shot 7-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-7 from behind the 3-point arc.

Coming off the bench for the first time this season, Kaison Randolph (Trenton, N.J./Pennington Prep) was on the court for 36 minutes and knocked down six 3-pointers, tying a career-high, to finish with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Eric Long (Bronx, N.Y./Marianapolis Prep) added 12 points, nine rebounds, and five blocked shots; while Jordan DeCicco (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) racked up 11 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.

The Rams (9-6, 5-2 CACC) shot just 38.2 percent (26-of-68) from the floor, but did drain 11 3-pointers. Philadelphia is now 6-1 when it hits at least 10 3-point baskets. Felician hit 35.9 percent (24-of-64) of its attempts, including six threes.

Philadelphia trailed just once throughout the 40 minutes when Tim Massado connected on a 3-pointer with 6:46 left in the first half to put Felician in front 25-24. The Rams, behind a pair of Randolph 3-pointers, outscored the Golden Falcons 15-7 the rest of the way to lead 39-32 at the half.

The momentum carried over into the second half, allowing Philadelphia to take its first double-digit lead of the day on a Guerra 3-pointer with 1:09 gone to make the score 43-32.

The Golden Falcons made one big push to get back into the game, closing the gap to 46-42 with a 10-3 surge that included five of Debon Bright's eight points. Philadelphia responded to the comeback attempt with 18 of the next 25 points to open up a game-high 15-point lead (64-49) on a Randolph triple at the 7:29 mark.

William Phelps paced Felician (6-10, 3-5 CACC) with 13 points and six rebounds in a reserve role. Terrell Spaulding recorded a game-high 12 rebounds.

After playing six straight games on the road, Philadelphia will return to the Gallagher Center where it will face Post in the CACC game on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 8 p.m.
