Men’s Basketball Tops Concordia (Cal.) in 2017-18 Opener, 79-60

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's basketball team (1-0) took down the Concordia Eagles (0-1) in the 2017-18 regular-season opener by a final of 79-60 in the 2017 Disney DII Tip-Off Classic from southern California.

The win comes as the first for Jefferson after transitioning from Philadelphia University to Jefferson. This past summer Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University integrated to become Jefferson.

Senior Kaison Randolph recorded a double-double behind 14 points and 14 boards along with seven assists in the victory.

Sophomore Kylan Guerra, the reigning CACC Rookie of the Year, finished tied for a game-high 23 points while adding six assists. He went 7-of-11 from the field and 8-of-9 from the charity strike.

Freshman Alexander Gorton scored 16 points in his debut on 4-of-8 shooting.

Senior Yevgen Sakhniuk put away 10 points in his first start for Jefferson after transferring from La Salle while sophomore Josh Bradanese recorded double-figures off the bench with 10 points.

The Rams had a comfortable 15-point lead at halftime, 48-33, before cruising in the second half for the 79-60 finals.

Jefferson Men's Basketball returns to action in the 2017 Disney DII Tip-Off Classic on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) against Point Loma in Orange, Calif. at Santiago Canyon College.
