NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman Alexander Gorton of the Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's basketball team was named the CACC Men's Basketball Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon. The news was announced by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference office.
This comes as the second time Gorton was honored by the conference office after earning a spot on the weekly honor roll a week ago. He shared this week's rookie award with Wilmington's Jermaine Head.

The Jefferson freshman put up 18 points in a loss at St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday before dropping a career-high 26 points in a win against Bentley on Saturday. The Jonesboro, Arkansas shot 10-of-15 from the floor against Bentley including 4-of-5 from three-point range. He also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in the win. He is currently leading the Rams with 18.3 points per contest.
Jefferson Men's Basketball returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 26 at home from the Gallagher Center against Bridgeport at 1 p.m.
