AVONDALE, Pa. – The Philadelphia University golf team finished tied for seventh place in the Griffin Invitational, hosted by Chestnut Hill College at the par-70 Inniscronne Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
The Rams were deadlocked for the seventh position with Neumann University and the University of Piitsburgh-Greensburg as all three teams had a team score of +70.
Jayson Gonzalez-Adams (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico/Colegio Rosa-Bell), Thomas Lucci (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls), and Peter Mahal (Great Meadows, N.J./Hackettstown) each turned in a scorecard of 87 (+17) to lead the Rams and finish in a tie for 28th in the 67-player event. Nick Geracimos (Chesapeake City, Md./Bohemia Manor) was two shots behind the trio of teammates with a round of 89 (+19) to come home tied for 34th.
Austin Regan (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) completed his round with a score of 93 (+23) and finished in 48th place.
Led by event winner Daniel Parker's round of 72 (+2), Dominican won the team title with a score of +31. The host Griffins (+33) and Nyack (+48) were second and third, respectively.
Philadelphia returns to action with a dual match against Neumann on Tuesday, April 5 at The ACE Club at noon.
