Dyson nets match-winner in overtime triumph at Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Hunter Dyson's (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) first collegiate goal came 6:20 into overtime to give the Philadelphia University men's soccer team a 3-2 non-conference road victory at Bloomsburg Wednesday night in Steph Pratt Stadium.

Dyson was able to find space in the Bloomsburg defense after receiving a touch pass from Jason Rocha (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) and then knocked his left-footed shot by Taylor LeSage for the winner.

Philadelphia is now 2-5-2 overall this season and snapped a three-match winless streak. The Rams also picked up their first overtime win in six matches (1-3-2). Bloomsburg falls to 1-7-1.

Rocha opened the scoring at the 10:51 mark with his first goal of the year. Andrew Sauers (York, Pa./Central York) provided an outlet pass that sprung Rocha behind the Huskie defense and allowed him to go one-on-one against LeSage.

Austin Transue knotted the match at one at 48:24 as he lofted a shot from just outside the penalty arc over the head of Philadelphia keeper Eric Gutierrez (Croydon, Pa./Harry S. Truman)—who made a career-high six saves in the victory.

Philadelphia reclaimed the lead 8:29 later when Seiji Rose (Toulouse, France/Lycee Climatique et Sportif Pierre de Coubertin) netted his team-leading fourth goal of the year on a free kick from 25 yards away from goal. All four of Rose's goals have come on free kicks.

Seth Walter got the Huskies even by heading in a Duncan Mitchell corner kick at the 73:12 mark.

LeSage finished the match with five saves for Bloomsburg.

The Huskies outshot the Rams 16-11; however, Philadelphia had all three scoring opportunities in the extra period.

Philadelphia returns to Ravenhill Field for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match against Dominican (N.Y.) on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2:30 p.m.
