BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Philadelphia University junior back Seiji Rose (Toulouse, France/ Lycee Climatique et Sportif Pierre de Coubertin) has been named to the 2016 Division II Conference Commissioners Association Men's Soccer All-East Region First Team on Wednesday. The voting was conducted by the sports information offices from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), East Coast Conference, and Northeast-10 Conference.
Rose put together a strong season allowed him to take home the CACC Defensive Player of the Year award and earn a place on the All-CACC first team. He was the leader of a back four that recorded a 1.49 goals against average and two shutouts.
Offensively, Rose was Philadelphia's set piece specialist, scoring all of his team-high five goals on set pieces. He scored the game-winning goal in a 3-1 triumph at Bloomfield on Oct. 22 and recording the tying goal in 1-1 draw at Holy Family on Sept. 22. Rose also dished out two assists, both on set pieces in a 2-1 win over Chestnut Hill on Oct. 25, to finish with a team-high 12 points.
With his selection to the first team, Rose will be on the national ballot for All-American consideration.
Philadelphia finished the season with a 6-10-2 overall record.
