KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Philadelphia University junior back Seiji Rose (Toulouse, Franc/Lycee Climatique et Sportif Pierre de Coubertin) picked up another postseason award as he was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II All-East Region Men's Soccer third team Wednesday.
Rose adds this all-region honor to an impressive list of awards that includes the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Defensive Player of the Year Award, All-CACC first team recognition, Division II Conference Commissioners Association Men's Soccer All-East Region first team accolades.
He was the leader of a back four that recorded a 1.49 goals against average and two shutouts.
In addition to his strong defense, Rose also had a major impact on the Philadelphia offense, scoring five goals—all off of free kicks. He also dished out two assists, both on set pieces in a 2-1 win over Chestnut Hill on Oct. 25, to finish with a team-high 12 points.
Philadelphia posted a 6-10-2 overall record in 2016.
