Men’s Soccer Falls to Wilmington in CACC Finale on Wednesday, 2-0

NEWARK, Del. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer team (13-4-1, 10-1-1 CACC) dropped its regular-season finale to the Wilmington Wildcats (10-5-3, 9-3-0 CACC) by a final of 2-0 in the CACC matchup. The loss comes as the first conference misstep for the Rams in 2017.

Wilmington scored goals in the 34th minute and the 61st minute to grab the victory.

The Wildcats' Abdul Mansaray scored his 10th of the season after playing a ball from Manuel Ruiz Luque to give Wilmington a 1-0 lead at the half.

Fredrik Bentdal put the Wildcats up 2-0 early in the second half as the score held at the end of regulation.

Jefferson managed just three shots in the contests while Wilmington had a total of 13.

Jefferson keeper Ben Sauer (L, 13-4-1) has been in goal for all 18 decisions for the Rams in the regular season. The senior made four saves on the afternoon, ending the regular season with 74 including an .804 save percentage and a 1.01 goals against average.

The Rams will host the first round of the CACC Championship from Ravenhill Field on Monday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. Jefferson will be the No. 1 conference seed and will welcome the No. 8-seeded team.
