NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University senior Celso de Vera Rehberger (Oviedo, Spain/
|Santa Maria del Naranco) and freshman Luis Molina Megias (Gran Canaria, Spain/Atlantic School Garoe) were selected to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) second team by the conference's seven head coaches on Tuesday. The Rams also picked up the CACC Sportsmanship Award.|
De Vera Rehberger—an All-CACC second team player for the second straight year—notched eight victories as the Rams' top singles player in the 2015-16 campaign. He was 3-3 against CACC competition, picking up wins against Caldwell, Chestnut Hill, and Bloomfield.
In his first season of collegiate tennis, Molina Megias had a 10-win in the singles lineup, one as the No. 1 player, and nine in the No. 2 position. His win at No. 1 singles came against Cabrini on April 13. In CACC play, Molina Megias earned victories over Caldwell, Bloomfield and the University of the Sciences.
De Vera Rehberger and Molina Megias made up Philadelphia's No. 1 doubles tandem. As a duo, the two recorded six victories, including wins over CACC foes Caldwell and Bloomfield. Molina Megias also has a win at No. 2 doubles against Cabrini with Jacobo Atri.
Philadelphia went 10-10 overall and 4-2 against the CACC during the regular season. The Rams earned the third seed for the CACC Tournament and will face second seed and host school Chestnut Hill pm Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m.
