Men’s tennis trio recognized by ITA for academic success

PHILADELPHIA – Jacobo Atri, Vincent Breer, and Sean DiBlasio of the Philadelphia University men's tennis team were recognized for their success in the classroom, earning 2016 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete status.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better (on a 4.00 scale), and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.

Atri and DiBlasio were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the second straight year. Atri led the Rams with 13 singles victories during the 2015-16 season, including 10 wins in the No. 4 position. DiBlasio—who was also named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Spring All-Academic Team—earned a pair of wins in singles competition.

A first-time honoree, Breer racked up seven wins for the Rams with five coming in the third position.
