NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the second time in the last three weeks, Philadelphia University freshman Oskar Haedicke (Iserlohn, Germany/Gymnasium An der Stenner Iserlohn) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's tennis rookie of the week by the conference office Monday.
Haedicke picked up three victories, two singles and one doubles, in two matches last week.
In the CACC opener against Caldwell on March 25, Haedicke was 2-0 with a singles and doubles victory. He teamed up with Luis Molina Megias (Gran Canaria, Spain/Atlantic School Garoe) to defeat Maximillian Ziegler and Lukas Lemke 8-6 in No. 1 doubles and went on to knock off Lemke again, this time at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-0. One day later, Haedicke picked up a 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 win over the University of District of Columbia's Diego Pinto.
Haedicke is 7-0 as a singles player, 6-0 at No. 2 and 1-0 at No. 1. In doubles play, Haedicke has three victories.
Philadelphia (3-4, 1-0 CACC) hosts West Chester in a non-conference match on Thursday, March 30 at 3 p.m.
