TEMPE, Ariz. – Philadelphia University's Oskar Haedicke (Iserlohn, Germany/ Gymnasium An der Stenner Iserlohn) capped off a great freshman season with the 2016-17 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's Tennis Division II East Region Rookie of the Year award on Tuesday.
The first Ram men's tennis player to be honored by the ITA, Haedicke was named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) second team in 2017.
Haedicke—a three-time conference rookie of the week—led the Rams with 13 singles victories. He went 11-2 in the No. 2 spot in the Rams' lineup and 2-1 in the No. 1 position. He was one-half of the team's No. 1 doubles tandem, winning seven matches with Luis Molina Megias.
Philadelphia posted a 10-8 record and qualified for the CACC Tournament in 2017.
