NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University sophomore Sergei Cendo (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) runner of the week by the conference office Monday.
Cendo—Philadelphia's first runner of the week since Eric Lacy on Oct. 21, 2014—led the Rams with a sixth-place finish in the 155-runner field at The Osprey Open on Sept. 24. He crossed the finish line with a personal-best 8-kilometer time of 26 minutes, 27.0 seconds.
In all three races so far this season, Cendo has been Philadelphia's fastest runner. Cendo's best finish of the season is a third at the season-opening Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship on Sept. 10.
Philadelphia's next race is the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on Saturday, Oct. 1.
