NEWARK, Del. – Graduate transfer Milan Duka of the Jefferson men's cross country team won his second-straight meet on Saturday, taking first in the Delaware Invitational from White Clay Creek State Park as the Rams finished third of 10 teams.
Duka emerged victorious with a mile pace of 5:26.8 in the 8-kilometer event, finishing with a total time of 27:04.5, about 16 seconds faster than the No. 2 finisher. This is the second win for Duka after he took first place at last week's Philadelphia Metropolitan Championship. He opened the season with a second-place showing at the DelVal Invitational.
Junior Sergei Cendo placed seventh overall and second for the Rams in the event with a time of 28:06.0, good for a pace of 5:39.1 per mile.
Freshman Ben Nardi finished third on the team and 19th overall with a time of 29:43.0 (5:58.6 pace).
Senior Jake Wong crossed fourth for Jefferson at 30:17.9 (6:05.7 pace) to finish 26th individually. Junior Valmar Wilson was close behind in 28th at 30:40.9 (6:10.3 pace) to round of the top-five finishers for the Rams on Saturday.
Wilmington (77) won the event followed by Delaware TC (79), Jefferson (81), Chestnut Hill (87), Howard (138), Nyack (139), Goldey-Beacom (144), Felician (153), Holy Family (210) and Lincoln (Pa., 265).

White Clay Creek State Park is the site of the 2017 CACC Championship on Sunday, Oct. 22.
The men continue their season next Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Osprey Open in Galloway, N.J. with a start time of 11 a.m.
