Milan Duka Named 2017 NCAA DII Cross Country All-Region Honoree

NEW ORLEANS – All-Region honorees for NCAA Division II Cross Country were recognized on Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following this weekend's NCAA regional championship meets. Graduate transfer Milan Duka of the Jefferson men's cross country team earned the 2017 accolade. The new was announced via a USTFCCCA press release.

Duka placed 12th overall of 159 runners at the NCAA East Region Championship from Audubon Golf Course in Amherst, N.H. Duka finished the 10-kilometer in wet and muddy conditions with a time of 34:03.1 for a 5:28.8 mile pace.

He was the highest finisher ever at the meet for a Philadelphia University/Jefferson runner since the school added the cross country program in 2005. Duka missed making the NCAA national championships by about 25 second behind the last individual qualifier.

The previous highest program finish was Tim Malloy (19th) and Eric Lacey (20th) in the 2013 East Region in Boston.
