PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia University women's basketball senior forward Tori Arnao (Newtown, Pa./Archbishop Wood) was named to the 2015-16 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Basketball Team by the 30 sports information offices in the Philadelphia metropolitan area Wednesday.
A Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-East Region second team and All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) first team selection, Arnao posted career highs during the 2015-16 season in scoring (13.0 ppg), total rebounds (344), made field goals (175), shooting percentage (47.7 percent), assists (75), and steals (51).
Arnao—one of four players in the CACC to average a double-double—led the conference in rebounding (10.8) and double-doubles (18). She was one of the CACC's top shooters, ranking fifth in made field goals and eighth in field goal shooting.
A three-time CACC Winter All-Academic Team and 2015-16 CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Team honoree, Arnao is in the Innovation MBA program and achieved a 3.93 grade-point average during the fall semester. She completed the health sciences program last spring and graduated with a 3.75 GPA
She became fifth player in program history with 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. Arnao scored her 1,000th point in a road win at Holy Family on Dec. 20, 2015 and grabbed her 1,000th rebound ten days later in a victory at Bloomsburg.
Arnao wraps up her career second in career rebounds (1,199) and rebounding average (10.8), fourth in field goal percentage (48.9 percent), eighth in blocks (89), ninth in made field goals (519), and 15th in points (1,242).
