NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University forward Erin Maher (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's basketball rookie of the week by the conference office Monday.
Maher averaged a team-best 19.0 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks in a week that saw the Rams fall to CACC foe Goldey-Beacom, 56-50 on Nov. 16, and defeat Lincoln (Pa.), 65-59 on Nov. 19.
Against the Lightning, Maher played 25 minutes in a reserve role and led the team with 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocked shots. Maher made her first career start in the win over Lincoln, recording a career-high 20 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 34 minutes of action.
Maher is currently ranked fifth in the CACC in scoring with a team-best 15.8 points per game. She also sits third in made 3-pointers (12), seventh in made field goals (24), and 12th in 3-point shooting (41.1 percent).
Philadelphia is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference after opening the season on the road for the first four games. The Rams' next game will be their home opener which comes on Tuesday, Nov. 22 against East Stroudsburg at 6 p.m. in the Gallagher Center.
