NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University freshman guard Alynna Williams (Ambler, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's basketball rookie of the week for the first time this season Monday.
Williams is the second Ram to earn the CACC rookie of the week award this season. Erin Maher (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) took home the honor on Nov. 21, 2016.
In two conference victories, Williams averaged 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
Williams poured in a game-high 15 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in a 59-51 home victory against Post on Jan. 10. She contributed five points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the Rams' 70-49 road win at Nyack on Jan. 14.
She has appeared in all 19 contests for the Rams, 17 times as a starter, and is recording 11.7 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, 52 assists, and 20 steals. Williams is second on the team in scoring and assists.
Philadelphia (11-8, 5-4 CACC) will host Chestnut Hill in a CACC clash on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. in the Gallagher Center.
