PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's basketball team is collaborating with the Chestnut Hill Griffins to host a Military Appreciation Game on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. from the Gallagher Center in the Rams' CACC home opener. The date was chosen to correspond with the 76th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor during World War II on December 7, 1971.
Benefitting the Philadelphia Veterans Comfort House (PVCH) and military veterans in the community, the evening will feature a presentation of our National Anthem with a court-sized American flag, veterans walking out with both teams' starting lineups, a halftime veteran recognition ceremony, a "Coat and Can" drive and a 50/50 raffle.
Winters coats and all non-perishable food items will be accepted for donations to the PVCH. The 50/50 raffle proceeds will also go to the PVCH.
All military veterans will receive free admission to the Jefferson vs. Chestnut Hill conference matchup (6 p.m.) along with free selected items at the concession stand.
