NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Isabella DiGnazio (Pittsburgh, Pa./Peters Twp.) and Katie Gallivan (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) of the Philadelphia University women's lacrosse team were selected to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's lacrosse second team on Monday.
DiGnazio—the CACC Defensive Player of the Year and second-team selection in 2016—put up career-best numbers on the offensive side of the field in her senior season. DiGnazio led the Rams with 42 goals and 53 points, both career-highs, in 15 matches. She also dished out a career-best 11 assists. DiGnazio added 32 draw controls, 18 ground balls, and 13 caused turnovers.
In the CACC, DiGnazio is ranked seventh in goals, ninth in points, 18th in caused turnovers, and 20th in draw controls.
DiGnazio scored a career-high seven goals in victories over Holy Family (April 15) and Caldwell (April 22).
Gallivan earned a place on her first all-conference team after setting career highs in ground balls (31) and caused turnovers (20). She added a goal and six draw controls. She is eighth in the conference in caused turnovers. Gallivan was named the CACC defensive player of the week on March 6 after a seven-ground ball, seven-caused turnover performance in the season opener at Bloomsburg.
Philadelphia wrapped up the regular season with an 8-7 overall record. The Rams earned the number three seed for the CACC Tournament after going 6-3 in conference play. Philadelphia hosts Wilmington in the first round of the conference tournament on Tuesday, April 25 at 3:30 p.m.
