PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's rowing team completed its 2017 season after competing in the second day of the rain-shortened Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday morning on the Schuylkill River.
The women's varsity eight led the way for the Rams by winning the Division II Second Final with a time of 6 minutes, 56.201 seconds. Philadelphia finished over five seconds ahead of second-place Nova Southeastern who completed the race in 7:01.293. Assumption was third with a time of 7:22.350.
In the Division II & III Second Final, the Rams' varsity four team crossed the finish line in third place with a time of 7:54.073. Mercyhurst posted a time of 7:35.222 to win the second final.
Philadelphia's varsity pair came in second in the second final after finishing the course in 8:37.838. Army had the winning time of 8:22.756.
The Dad Vail Regatta would be washed out by steady rain before the novice four boat could take to the water in the third final.
