Women's Rowing Varsity Eight Places Fourth at NCAA Division II Championships

The Philadelphia University's women's varsity eight crew team placed fourth at the NCAA Division II Championships on Sunday, June 1st in Sacramento, Calif. It was the first-ever appearance at the NCAA Championships for Head Coach Chris O'Brien's rowing program, which is in just the second year of its existence at the University. Top-ranked Western Washington took first for the fourth consecutive year, followed by UC-San Diego in second place, Dowling College in third and the Lady Rams in fourth. For O'Brien and his team, the success in 2007-08 continues a meteoric rise through the Division II ranks in two short seasons and culminated with an outstanding performance in Sacramento. The Lady Rams earned a spot in the Grand Final on Saturday, May 31st, when they finished second to earn a spot in the Championship race. Full Story >
