Three Second-Half Goals Lead Women’s Soccer in Shutout Victory Over Felician, 3-0

LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (5-4-0, 4-2-0 CACC) used three second-half goals to earn a 3-0 conference win at Felician (3-6-1, 2-4-0 CACC) on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first half, freshman Sarah Patrignani scored in the 48th minute in the first shot of the second half for the Rams. The goal came as the team-leading fourth of the season for the freshman. Sophomore Emily Discavage served her from the right side before Patrignani took the shot off a bounce for the score.

Patrignani nearly scored again 10 minutes later in the 58th minute when she took a shot that hit the crossbar.

In the 61st minute, senior Julia Teixeira put the Rams up 2-0 with her first collegiate goal. Junior Morgan Foster and Patrignani earned assists on the play. A high long ball through traffic led to a deflection before the goal for the senior from Trumbull, Connecticut.

The last goal of the evening came from sophomore Erin Sullivan, her first of the season and the second of her career. In the 90th minute of play, the sophomore scored on a free kick from the right side to put the Rams up 3-0 for the shutout victory.

Junior keeper Erin Tinneny (W, 5-4) earned her second shutout of the season and the fourth of her career in the win. The junior from Collegeville, Pennsylvania made two saves across 90 minutes. She now owns a 0.99 goals against average in six conference games.
