PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team is scheduled for two matches this week. On Wednesday, Oct. 11 they will take on the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights at 3:30 p.m. at Ravenhill Field. On Saturday, Oct. 14 they will take on the Bloomfield Bears at noon at Ravenhill Field in a CACC matchup.
LAST WEEK'S MATCHUP
The Rams won against the Concordia Clippers last Saturday with a final score of 5-1. It marks the most goals for the Rams since they defeated Bloomfield last October. Jefferson took an early lead scoring two goals in the first half. Junior Katie Neveil scored the first goal, followed by sophomore Alexa Karakitsios. Sophomore Dena Noiseux stole a pass at midfield and took it all the way through the box to give the Rams a 3-0 lead. Sophomore Kayla West scored off a pass from freshman Melissa Brady. Sophomore Erin Sullivan scored the final goal for the Rams as an unassisted free kick from the ridge side of the field.
CACC WEEKLY AWARDS
Junior keeper Erin Tinneny and senior back Amy Heller earned CACC Weekly Awards on Monday. Tinneny was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Week for the second-straight week while Heller grabbed CACC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
LOOKING AT BRIDGEPORT
The Rams will take on the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights who are 5-5-3 this season in a non-conference match up on Wednesday.
LOOKING AT BLOOMFIELD
The Rams will then face off against the Bloomfield Bears who are 4-7 overall this season, and 2-6 in the CACC.
The Rams will take on Chestnut Hill on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m. at Victory Field #1.
