Women’s Soccer Turns in 2-0 Shutout Over Bloomfield

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (8-5-0, 7-2-0 CACC) turned in a 2-0 conference shutout over the Bloomfield Bears (4-9-0, 2-8-0 CACC) on Saturday afternoon from Ravenhill Field.

Junior keeper Erin Tinneny (W, 8-5-0) grabbed her fourth shutout of the season and the sixth of her career in the win.

Defense won the game for the Rams as the squad limited Bloomfield to just four shots in the first half and three in the second. Jefferson was anchored by a unit of senior Amy Heller, junior Katie Neveil and freshman Kasey Schlupp to name a few on the backline.

Junior Brooke Haden scored the first of two goals for the Rams, coming in the 28th minute. Junior Morgan Foster fed her the ball before Haden chipped it over the Bloomfield keeper, 1-0.

Sophomore Dena Noiseux gave Jefferson a 2-0 lead going into halftime when sophomore Alexa Karakitsios provided her a pass to lead to a shot from about 25 yards out in the 32nd minute.

Jefferson outshot the Bears on the day 29-7 including on goal, 11-2.
