Women’s Soccer Falls to Chestnut Hill on the Road, 2-1

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's soccer team (8-6, 7-3 CACC) dropped a conference road matchup at Chestnut Hill (3-11, 3-8 CACC) on Wednesday afternoon by a 2-1 final.

After a scoreless first half with Jefferson leading shots 12-2 after 45 minutes, the Rams went on top early in the second half.

Sophomore Dena Noiseux scored in the 51st minute to give Jefferson a 1-0 lead after freshman Kasey Schlupp fed her a pass at midfield. Noiseux dribbled to the top of the box before scoring. It came as the sophomore's team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Chestnut Hill found the equalizer in the 72nd minute when Marisa Murphy made a pass to Sabrina Shinkowitz for a 30-yard strike.

The Griffins took the lead in the 87th minute of action with time winding down on a goal by Marikate O'Toole with an assist to Julianna Casasanto.

Jefferson managed four shots in the final minute to regulation, but all four attempts were blocked by Griffin defenders.
