Candia Named CACC Women’s Tennis Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Lauren Candia of the Jefferson women's tennis team was named the CACC Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday morning. The news was announced by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference office.

LAUREN CANDIA – CACC WOMEN'S TENNIS CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Candia won both of her doubles and her singles matches last week against Molly and USciences. The squad won 9-0 over Molloy and fell 5-4 in a close match with USciences. She defeated Molloy's Amanda Caimaro, 6-0, 6-0, in a midweek matchup after earning a doubles win with teammate Marta Yevstakhevych. On Saturday, the duo won their doubles match against the Devils before Candia earned a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Elkanah Linder form the No. 2 singles spot. The sophomore is 6-1 from the No. 2 singles spot on the season and 7-1 in the No. 1 doubles spot with Yevstakhevych.
