NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University outside hitter Mariah Cadzow (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball rookie of the week by the conference office Monday.
Cadzow—the second Ram this season to earn the rookie of the week award—averaged 6.8 kills and 9.6 digs in a 4-1 week for Philadelphia. At the Raider Classic over the weekend, Cadzow recorded 33 kills and 43 digs to help the Rams pick up three victories.
In a four-set win over Shepherd, Cadzow had 13 kills—she second-highest kill total of the season—and 12 digs for her second double-double of the season. Against Shippensburg, she tallied seven kills and 13 digs in a three-set loss. She added seven kills, while hitting .357, and nine digs in a sweep against Virginia State.
Through nine matches, Cadzow has posted 68 kills, a .200 attack percentage, and 94 digs. She is third on the team in attack percentage and digs, and fourth in kills.
Philadelphia (6-3) will play its first match in the Gallagher Center this season when it hosts Millersville in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m.
