NYACK, N.Y. – The Philadelphia University women's volleyball team notched its 10th win in its last 11 outings, defeating host Nyack 3-1 (22-25, 25-13, 25-15, 25-14) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match Saturday afternoon in Bowman Gymnasium).
Corinne Justus (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) racked up a match-high 12 kills, a .214 attack percentage, and three total blocks (1 solo, 4 assists) to lead Philadelphia (14-4, 7-1 CACC). Courtney Wensel (Bechtelsville, Pa./Berks Catholic) recorded 11 kills, while hitting .258, and a match-high 14 kills for her 14th double-double of the season.
Mariah Cadzow (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) added nine kills, a .258 attack percentage, three service aces and three digs. Lauren Laucella (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) contributed four kills, four digs, five block assists, and three assists.
Alexandra Harrington (St. Leonard, Md./Huntingtown) recorded her third double-double of the season with 34 assists and a career-high 11 digs.
After hitting -.068 in the first set—the first time the Rams had a negative attack percentage since set two of a 3-0 loss to Shippensburg on Sept. 9, Philadelphia came alive and hit .385, .318, and .320 in each of the next three sets.
Abbey Lawson paced Nyack (5-13, 3-5 CACC) with eight kills, while Alexus Winters added a match-high 16 digs.
Philadelphia returns to the Gallagher Center for a CACC match against Holy Family on Tuesday, October 11 at 6 p.m.
