NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the second time this season, Philadelphia University's Amber Johnson (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball rookie of the week.
Johnson—who previously earned the award on Sept. 6—recorded 12 kills and hit .416 in two Ram victories last week. She added three total blocks (two solo, two assists) and one dig.
In the Rams' 3-0 sweep at Felician on Oct. 15, Johnson tallied nine kills, while hitting .467, one solo block, and one block assist. She had three kills on nine attempts, one dig, and 1.5 blocks (one solo, one assist) on Oct. 11 in a three-set win over Holy Family.
Johnson is currently sitting second on the team with a .285 attack percentage and 41 digs, and fourth 128 kills. She is ranked ninth in the conference in attack percentage and 17th in blocks.
Philadelphia (16-4, 9-1 CACC) travels to East Stroudsburg for a non-conference match on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.
