NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University women's volleyball outside hitter Courtney Wensel (Bechtelsville, Pa./Berks Catholic) earned her third Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) player of the week award of the 2016 season Monday.
In a pair of 3-1 road victories, Wensel—who was named the CACC player of the week on Sept. 20 and Sept. 27—racked up 38 kills, a .224 attack percentage, 34 digs, and two total blocks.
She started the week by tying her career-high of 23 kills, while hitting .267, and added 18 digs at Georgian Court on Nov. 2. Two days later, Wensel recorded a match-high 15 kills and a team-best 16 digs against Chestnut Hill.
Wensel is ranked third in the conference in kills per set (3.84), fourth in kills (365) and points (419.5), seventh in service aces (42) and digs (377), and eighth in digs per set (3.97).
Philadelphia (23-4, 15-1)—a winner of 11 in a row and 19 of its last 20—has secured its second straight CACC southern division title. The Rams' next match comes on Tuesday, Nov. 8 against visiting Goldey-Beacom at 6 p.m.
