NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Courtney Wensel of the Jefferson women's volleyball team was named the CACC Volleyball Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The news was announced by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference office.
Wensel helped the Rams go 3-2 last week including three wins at the Wildcat Invitational down in Newark, Del.
In the last five matches, the Bechtelsville, Pa. native totaled three double-doubles between kills and digs, narrowly missing the feat on the other two matches.
Wensel had at least 13 kills in each match including double-doubles with 15 kills and 23 digs at Millersville, 14 kills and 15 digs vs. Adelphi and 14 kills and 21 digs vs. Franklin Pierce. The junior totaled 16 kills against American International and 13 against Merrimack with nine digs in each.
She now has five double-doubles on the campaign.
Volleyball returns to action for their home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 13 against Wilmington at 6 p.m. before hosting Queens on Friday at 6 p.m. Action takes place at the Gallagher Center.
