Volleyball Falls on the Road to Chestnut Hill in Four Sets on Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) volleyball team (11-6, 6-1 CACC) fell to the Chestnut Hill Griffins (4-13, 3-4 CACC) on Tuesday evening from Sorgenti Arena in four sets, 25-16, 25-18, 20-25, 25-14.

The Rams had their eight-match winning streak snapped with the road loss to the Griffins. It came as the squad's first loss since September 9 at the Wildcat Invitational in the early stages of the season.

Junior Courtney Wensel led the Rams with 13 kills. Senior Corinne Justus notched a double-double with 10 kills and 16 digs. Freshman Meghan Patterson also recorded 16 digs in the loss.

Chestnut Hill hit .241 as a team while Jefferson posted a .084 hitting percentage.

Jefferson Volleyball returns to action at home on Friday, Oct. 6 with Holy Family at 6 p.m. followed by Saturday, Oct. 7 with Felician at noon for Homecoming Weekend. Both matches will be in the Gallagher Center.
