Women’s Cross Country Wins the Jack St. Clair Memorial Championship

PHILADELPHIA – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's cross country team won the nine-team Jack Saint Clair Memorial Cross Country Championship on Saturday afternoon at Belmont Plateau on Jefferson's homecoming weekend.

Senior Sarah Nellis was the top finisher for the Rams, finishing the six-kilometer, 82-compeititor race in 25:17.7 for a 6:48 mile pace.

Sophomore Erin Young placed second on Jefferson, crossing with a time of 26:00.6 for seventh overall and a 6:59 pace.

Freshman Kali Safer, senior Maddie Conway, junior Gypsy Blue Cooper and sophomore Nicole Stough took ninth through 12th respectively overall at the event.

Safer turned in a time of 26:13.9 (7:03 pace). Conway finished with a pace of 7:07 and a final time of 26:30.4. Cooper crossed with a time of 26:35.0 with a pace of 7:08 while Stough finished at 26:39.9 for a 7:10 mile pace.
