Dave Thomas Named 2017 CACC Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Ahead of this Sunday's CACC Championship at White Clay Creek Park, Jefferson head coach Dave Thomas was named the 2017 CACC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year. The news was announced by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

It marks the sixth time that Thomas has received the women's honor from the conference. Between both the men and the women, the Jefferson head coach has earned the award eight times (women – six, men – two).

The women are trying to win their fourth-straight CACC Championship on Sunday and their ninth in the last 10 years when the squad laces up at White Clay Creek Park in Delaware.

The Rams' cross country programs have combined to win 10 CACC championships (women – eight, men – two) in Thomas' first 11 years at the helm. The women have won eight of the last nine CACC titles (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016). The men claimed the conference title in 2009 and 2014.
