Women’s Cross Country Wraps Up NCAA DII East Region Championship in New York

AMHERST, N.Y. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) women's cross country team took 11th place of 25 team at Saturday's NCAA DII East Region Cross Country Championships from Audubon Golf Course in Amherst, N.Y. The six-kilometer race is held to determine the region's three national championship-qualifying teams, as well as three national championship-qualifying individuals.

The Rams finished with a total time of 2:07.49 for an average time of 25:33.

Senior Sarah Nellis was the top finisher for Jefferson, clocking a time of 24:51.7 (6:40.1 pace) for 46th place overall of 173 runners.

Freshman CACC Rookie of the Year Kali Safer grabbed 65th place with a time of 25:20.8 (6:47.9 pace).

Sophomores Meghan Horan and Nicole Stough took 73rd and 75th place with times of 25:40.8 (6:53.2) and 25:41.9 (6:53.5), respectively.

Sophomore Erin Young finished with a time of 26:14.0 (7:02.1 pace) for 89th place while senior Maddie Conway took 98th place at 26:32.7 (7:07.2).

Senior Erin Raup rounded out the seven-runner event with a time of 27:14.9 (7:18.5) for 124th place.
